AIE displays unmanned technologies at DSEI 2015

A well-executed mission carried out with complete precision, supported by the world’s top level military staff, cutting edge defence technology and over 100 official overseas delegations.

No, not an intriguing top-secret combat operation but the world’s largest land, sea and air defence and security exhibition; otherwise known as DSEI 2015.

The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2015 exhibition is a biennial event that attracts hundreds of exhibitors from all over the world and across the entire supply chain, from major procurement officials to supply companies. This year, exhibitors gathered at London’s ExCel from September 15-18 where AIE showcased their lightweight propulsion Wankel rotary engine for unmanned systems.

The intense four day event saw a mix of visitors, including representatives of international armed forces who took part in a busy schedule of activities and meetings to broker partnerships and experience technological developments within the defence and security domain.

A popular forum for experiencing new advancements was found within the specially designated Unmanned Zone, where visitors were welcomed to the AIE stand. Here they learned how innovative designs produce intriguing benefits for unmanned systems.

Within the AIE exhibit, visitors viewed the high-performing 225CS Wankel Rotary Engine , and AIE representatives happily revealed the ins and outs of how this extremely lightweight yet powerful 40bhp engine is able to provide a high power-to-weight ratio with minimal maintenance and low total-cost-of-ownership, making it an ideal solution to power medium tactical unmanned vehicles, including USVs, UGVs, UAVs, and VTOL platforms.

In addition to delving into the long list of advantages resulting from the 225CS propulsion engine, visitors discussed the options for producing their own bespoke engine using AIE’s vast experience and state-of-the-art design and manufacturing centre based in the heart of England.

So if you’re keen to learn the intricacies of SPARCS and how it provides AIE engines with unrivalled performance, then take a moment to visit AIE’S website for more details on Innovative Design
