AIE Celebrate 650CS UAV Engine Launch in New Orleans

Enthusiastic chatter fills the 350,000 square feet of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans as around 600 exhibitors discuss new opportunities and start to pack away their latest UAV displays and technologies that have proudly been displayed at the largest global unmanned systems show: AUVSI Xponential 2016 from May 2nd – 5th.

Amongst the flight-control systems, radars, cameras, autopilots and electronic components that all have their place in the development of next generation UAVs is an exciting new product launch that is designed to ensure unmanned aerial systems operate at optimal capacity and benefit from smooth, reliable and low vibration propulsion – that product is the 650CS Wankel Rotary Engine, developed and manufactured by UK based Advanced Innovative Engineering (UK) Ltd.

On display at the AIE (UK) Ltd booth #2028, the 650CS rotary engine celebrated its official launch. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of medium to large UAVs with its high power of 120bhp and compact, lightweight engine weighing just 28kg, the 650CS attracted attention and questions over the engine’s incorporation of patented technology and revolutionary SPARCS cooling system.

The patented SPARCS cooling system provides the 650CS rotary engine with superior heat rejection and a completely sealed engine core for zero oil loss to the environment and longer endurance. With these new innovations tested and implemented in the 650CS rotary engine, UAV developers can now build unmanned aerial vehicles with an extremely reliable lightweight rotary powertrain that delivers increased take-off and climb capabilities, longer range and the ability to run on multi-fuel types.

As over 8000 industry leaders from around the globe visited AUVSI Xponential 2016, the exhibition event proved to be a great success for AIE, not only with the interest raised around their brand new revolutionary UAV 650CS engine, but also around AIE’s ultra-compact rotary engine product range that can also provide ideal solutions for hybrid-electric aerospace propulsion.

If you were unable to visit AIE at Xponential 2016 to view the newly unveiled 650CS Rotary UAV Engine but would like more details, you can learn more about the rotary engine and its innovations at www.aieuk.com or contact AIE for advice on how this easily integrated engine can provide your unmanned platform and on board systems with improved low vibration performance.
