AIE Latest Innovations Showcased at International Festival for Business 2016

Lichfield, Staffordshire: As representatives for inspiring British innovations in manufacturing, Advanced Innovative Engineering (UK) Ltd are attending the world’s biggest business festival held at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool which will be taking place from 13 June – 1 July 2016.

The International Festival for Business 2016 (IFB 2016) which was launched by a keynote address from the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, will welcome over 30,000 delegates including representatives from almost 800 international companies seeking to support new trade and investment opportunities.

With the IFB’s focus on UK innovation for overseas investors, AIE (UK) Ltd appeared as part of the UK Trade and Investment government department stand to showcase their latest breakthrough in lightweight, high power automotive propulsion with their patented SPARCS-cooled 650S rotary engine.

To demonstrate the appeal and technological capabilities of research and development within the UK automotive industry, AIE will present to delegates the progress of an exciting collaborative project to develop a low carbon, high performance sports car.

The full scale Westfield sports car prototype on display at the UKTI stand is developed with strong but lightweight Axontexâ„¢ carbon fibre from Axon Automotives and integrated with AIE’s low emission, 120bhp 650S rotary engine as the primary power unit.

Visitors to the stand can witness the advantages of these UK developed highly innovative automotive components and discover how AIE’s world-class 650S engine supports improved weight distribution, enhanced vehicle handling and additional heat rejection for superior performance and reliability.

Speaking of the efficiencies of the 650S rotary, Alex Vaughn Business Development for AIE explains “AIE have made significant advancements with the Wankel rotary engine thanks to our strong heritage in rotary engine design and state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities. With new patented technologies we’ve eliminated previous rotary drawbacks and developed an efficient engine that is ideal for niche vehicles and sports cars. Because of its high power-to-weight ratio and compact size which reduces the weight of the car, we can achieve high performance but using less fuel.”

The IFB 2016 event, which will feature contributions from key industry leaders and facilitate discussions on major technological advancements from UK innovators is the ideal setting for AIE (UK) Ltd who are encouraging all delegates interested in automotive or aerospace advanced propulsion to visit the UK Trade and Investment stand and speak with AIE representatives about the benefits of next generation rotary engines as primary or hybrid-power units.
